U5 - U6 - U7 - U9 Program Information

Program Information and Structure:

The Mini Program (U5-U9) follows the Canada Soccer Pathway to promote a love for the game at an early age.  In doing so, practices will consist of station-based or game activity game (GAG) methodology organized into the 4 categories for development:  Soccer technique, General Movement, Coordination, and Small-Sided Games. 

• Soccer technique involves activities which teach dribbling, control, passing, and shooting. This is where the kids develop basic skills they will use for the rest of their soccer careers.
• General Movement involves activities designed to promote physical activity. The kids will learn speed, agility, and balance while participating in highly active tasks.
• Coordination involves activities that combine different movements and serve to promote better control of their bodies with and without a ball.
• Small-Sided Games are where the kids can apply some of the skills they learn in “real” game scenarios. This can include scrimmages, or other variations of games with a ball.

Throughout the season, there will also be a couple of tournament days where the kids play for the whole practice to promote fun and healthy competition (without keeping score).

 

Age Divisions

U5 - born in 2019

U6 - born in 2018

U7 - born in 2017

U9 - born in 2015 and 2016

 

U5/U6 Age Group 

Registration Fee $125.00

All U5/U6 sessions will be held at the Stratford Soccer Complex on Field C. 

Boys sessions will be held on Monday evenings in two different groups. The first session will be held from 5:00-5:45 pm and the second session from 6:00-6:45 pm.

Girls sessions will be held on Tuesday evenings in two different groups. The first session will be held from 5:00-5:45 pm and the second session from 6:00-6:45 pm.

 

U7 Age Group

Registration Fee $160.00

All U7 sessions will be held at the Stratford Soccer Complex on Field D. 

Boys sessions will be held on Tuesdays from 5:00-5:45 pm and Thursdays from 6:00-6:45 pm.

Girls sessions will be held on Tuesday from 6:00-6:45 pm and Thursday from 5:00-5:45 pm.

 

U9 Age Group

Registration Fee $170.00

In the U9 age group, when registering you will to choose if your player wants to play on a travel or non-travel team. Travel teams will play games on Wednesday evenings against other soccer clubs in and around the Charlottetown area; including Sherwood, Winsloe/Charlottetown and Eliot River. 

All practice sessions will be held at the Stratford Soccer Complex on Field D.

Boys practice sessions will be held for all players on Mondays from 5:00-6:00pm and for non-travel players on Wednesdays from 6:00-7:00 pm.

Girls practice sessions will be held for all players on Mondays from 6:15-7:15 pm and for non-travel players on Wednesdays from 5:00-6:00 pm.

 

*** U9 Optional additional games nights (3v3 or 4v4)*****

 

This is an additional evening of soccer for those player interested in more playing time. Players will be divided into teams each session for a fun evening of soccer. 

 

Boys session from 6:00-7:00 pm and Girls session from 5:00-6:00 pm
